It has a hard seat and a choice of diaphragm and o-ring materials to match your environment.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe valve works by detecting the inlet, or back pressure, under the diaphragm which is created as flow enters through the side inlet port. When the back pressure exceeds the setpoint the diaphragm force compresses the range spring and the stem lifts off the seat and the valve opens. As flow increases further the back pressure decreases the spring and diaphragm relax and the stem returns to its normally closed position.
