The ball valve revolutionized the valve world. Utilizing an otherwise solid ball with a hole bored through the center, a ball valve is a quarter turn valve that is normally open, or normally closed. The perforation through the ball allows media travel when in line with the inlet and outlet ports, and visa versa.
